Ok how do I change March 23 it’s showing 9 mile biking I can’t get that to be removed only walked
                    1
Hi kSUP. The only option is to delete the activity and then log a brand new activity in it's place. When you log an activity, you can back-date it to the 23rd (and log it as walking). But, to your good point, we've given feedback to Racery that an option to edit a logged activity would be ideal. Thank you for taking purposeful steps during this past week.

Hi pjrunnermom. The challenge was intended to go from March 23rd through March 29th - one week/7 days - but we are leaving the Racery platform open today for people to be able to log activities they didn't log during the week (and especially yesterday since the Racery platform is based on EST and would have shut down at 9:00 p.m. PST, or even worse, 6:00 p.m. HST). Thank you for your participation in this special and purposeful challenge.
Thanks! I made sure my team did not log activities/miles today. :)

Curtis - If a yellow star denotes team captain, why doesn’t Mary Koch from Team RBTN have a yellow star? She started the team & recruited all the members.
                    1
She is definitely the team captain. And it's interesting that the yellow star doesn't show up in the "athletes" section, but if you look at all the team members in the "teams" section, you'll see the yellow star. https://racery.com/r/pieste... But, the good news is that having a yellow star, or not having one, doesn't impact the results in any way. The only thing a team captain can do that a team member of that team can't do is control the size of the team. Congrats on 6 strong days of racing for Women in Service.
                  • KERN RBTN Mar 28, 2021
Hello @CurtisBrake, what are the yellow stars for? And how does one go about earning one? I noticed Chily had one a while back. Thought maybe it was because he has been at the head of the pack for so long. But today I noticed several other participants with a star.
                    1
That means they are the team’s captain. Good question.

I would delete it for you if I could, but I don’t have the admin rights to do that. But you can delete it by going to your icon, then select “personal tracking” and then select the cog wheel of the activity you want to delete. Or from the phone, select the three horizontal bars in the upper left, go to “my logs” and then select the “...”. Hope this helps.

Why does the email say it ends on the 29th at midnight and everything else I’ve seen/was told say the 30th at 11:59pm??
                    1
Hi Emily. Good question and I'm glad you asked because we realize we could have explained that better in all our communication. The event and challenge is intended to be one week, 7 days, which would be from March 23 - March 29. But we did communicate March 30 as the last date, and even the Racery information in the "About + Join" section says March 30th. But, we are leaving the Racery app open on March 30th for people to be able to log any last activities that they weren't able to do on March 29 (or any time from March 23-29). And we specifically did this because the Racery platform is based on EST and not somone's actual time zone, and we wanted to give our participants in PST, AST and HST enough time to do their activities on March 29th (which may be after midnight EST on the 29th) and log them when they can. But good feedback for the next time we do a Racery event. And thanks for all the purposeful steps, strides and hours of activities you are doing all in honor of women in service.

                    1
Hi Cadillaclady! That's a good question, and also a good suggestion for future capabilities. Unfortunately logged activities can't be edited/modified after they've been submitted. But, there is a solution. You could delete your activity that doesn't have the picture and resubmit it with the picture. The Racery platform allows a user to retroactively log any activity just in case it was from a previous day and it's important for you to log the actual date of the activity. But, we've loved seeing everyone's pictures - the smiles, who they are honoring, where they are running and so much more. Can't wait to see your picture(s).

Excited that I am doing this but a complete bummer when there is only two people on my team, me included, and the other person hasn’t even logged anything. Not like I would have gotten even half of it done by myself anyways.
                    2
This event proves the power of teamwork. But, even more important than that, it proves that each individual can make a BIG difference on their own no matter how few miles or minutes they log, or even if they don't reach the team goal, because it's all about recognizing and honoring at the end of the event (but we all motivated by a good, fun goal, so we get it!). We appreciate your commitment and motivation given your team's circumstance!
Solo Team Blue - I love it! Keep putting one foot in front of the other because those purposeful steps to remember our fallen are NOT forgotten by us. In my book, you made your goal every time you walked out the door. THANK YOU!!!

Hello. I donated to 'wear blue', unfortunately donated in the incorrect place and is not showing up here as part of my team donation. Donation date: 3/23/21, donation number: 42680314. Is there a way that this donation can be credited to my team: JLL Kilo. Appreciate your help!
Hi Carol. First and foremost, on behalf of wear blue, thank you for your donation. Every dollar goes directly toward accomplishing our mission of honoring service and sacrifice. In this case, I assume you clicked “learn more” under “Support wear blue”, which takes you directly to wear blue’s website and donation page. Because that donation was done outside of the Racery platform, that transaction is not shown in the Racery information. However, you will get a receipt for the donation. And we can make sure that donation is associated with JLL at the end of the event by manually adding it to JLL’s totals and report. But unfortunately there’s no technical way for it to show up in Racery’s information right now. JLL has been so incredibly involved and generous. We sincerely appreciate you.
Thanks Curtis! Appreciate your efforts in all of this.

If this is basically a running platform, why does bicycling show up first in the drop down menu? I realize they are in alphabetical order, but I have had to delete entries because I logged my 3 miles of running as 3 hours of bicycling. Thanks for all you do @Curtis. And also for the kudos.
                    1
Hi Karen. Very good point. Their mobile experience (i.e. app) is different from their desktop version, and Racery does not have the capability right now to sort their activities based on our request (as we would like running/walking to be first like it is in the desktop version). I'm sure more mistakes like that might have happened across the board, and I guess the good part of that honest mistake is that people are much closer to their 174 mile goal now. But, for anyone reading this chat, if you made that same honest mistake, you can actually delete your activity and resubmit it. But, very good point and hopefully Racery is able to make this modification the next time we all come together for another great, purposeful event! Thanks, Karen.

Hi MrPerry. One option is to change your pin (without needing to know your current pin) by (from a desktop) selecting your icon in the upper right corner and then select "settings". You'll be able to change the pin there. But, if you want to identify your current pin, please email team@racery.com.

Hopefully they show up there. And, then if they don't, they will eventually show up for your team. And, if you don't see them in "personal tracking", please engage me again (either email or here). But thank you for taking the time to make sure every step and stride is counted for Women in Service.

When I log my time for bike riding, it nearly cuts my miles in half. I'm riding a mountain bike off road on a 22 mile trail and only get credited with 12 miles because the system uses hours pedaling instead of hours. Can I add more time to the hours so I actually get credit for the miles ridden?
Good morning. I apologize for the frustration. Racery is a running platform, so all exercise is converted into running miles. The system is designed to be as equal as possible for everyone. Obviously, you can bike 22 miles a lot faster than you could run it. We appreciate all the time you are honoring during our challenge and encourage everyone to report accurate times. Thank you!
I had the same thing happen. I found it interesting I could spend 1 hour doing yoga and get 1.5 miles but 22 Minutes in a spin class and get 1.8 miles

Can I count the miles I’ve run for March or does mileage count only from when you sign up?
Hi Tamajo. The ideal goal of this challenge is to count the miles of activity during the Piestewa Challenge timeline - March 23 - March 29 (we will leave the system open on March 30th for extra activity logging). We want to challenge ourselves to perhaps do a little more to recognize the challenge of Women in Service that always do more! Thanks for your support in this special challenge. We appreciate it!
                    Thanks!! I didn’t realize it started the 23rd!! 😁

Is the last day to log miles the 29th, or the 30th?
Great question! The actual event is for 7 days / 1 week (March 23 - March 29) but we are leaving the Racery platform open one more day, March 30, for people to log their activities for the week. This is especially needed for people that are not on EST time zone, as the platform is based on EST. We need to give time for people taking an sunset swim in Hawaii to log their activity! :) Thanks for asking.

My team mate is struggling to log running miles! Can I help him?
                    1
Hi CatFoer. Teamwork-makes-the-174 -mile-goal-work! But, if you're asking if you technically can help your teammate log their miles, you can't, unless they give you their username and password to the Racery platform (which I don't recommend). But, point that person to: https://static1.squarespace... Or, if that doesn't help, point them in my direction and I can try and coach them (curtis.brake@wearblueruntor...).

Hi there, One of my team members is having an issue entering in her miles due to a malfunction with her phone. She's taking pictures of her treadmill mileage, is there any way her info can be logged by me or one of the race coordinators? Thanks so much for the help in advance.
                    1
Hi Roman. Unfortunately someone technically can't log miles for someone else. But, they can log activity from a desktop computer, or tablet as well - not just a phone. And here's a guide on how to do that - https://static1.squarespace...

I have a team member that didn’t register in time; is there any way to add them?
                    1
Hi SFCgauthier. Yes, anyone can still register - all the way through the last day of the event. And when they do register, and because you only have 7 people on your team, they can be on your team. Just point them to https://racery.com/r/piestewa and when they click "join now", they can select your team.

Can we log miles for biking? It only shows me minutes currently?
Because Racery is a running platform, it will allow you to only log your minutes biking and it converts it to running miles. But we (wear blue) welcome you to log miles either way you choose! On foot or on wheels! Thank you for honoring with us!

Hi Cat. I assume this is no longer an issue, as I see you logged two different activities (8.6 miles and 3.1 miles). If you still need help, please chat me back.

Good evening. You don't have to enter your bib number to log your mileage. Just select "log activity" from the menu on the left of the screen, (5th tab down). and enter your mileage there. Thank you for honoring with us!

how do i add miles for walking?
                    1
Hi Cindarelli. On a desktop, go to the menu just about this chat, and select "log activity". From there you can use the drop-down menu to select the activity you did (it defaults to running/walking) but you can also select biking, rowing, swimming and yoga. Then enter the distance walked/ran (or the time biked, rowed, swam or yoga'd). From the Racery app on a phone, select the three horizonal lines in the upper left section and then select "log miles". We hope you have a great event week!

Hi Canessa. I can help. If this person is already on another team, I can move them to your team. Please let me know that person's Racery Nickname, or first/last name and I will do that. However, if that person is not registered for this event, just tell them to go to https://racery.com/r/piestewa/ and Join, and then join your team (BeaconsofLight) by using the dropdown menu upon registering.
                  • Kgoldmach PeloRogue2 Mar 23, 2021
The app only allows you to enter bike time, and it converts to milage, which was far fewer miles that I actually biked. Why does it have you enter milage for running and time for biking? This is an inaccurate and frustrating way to track when we’re trying to record milage.
I agree. Maybe because cycling is easier than running/walking
Hi Kgoldmach. We understand your point and thanks for bringing that up. Walking/Running is the only activity in Racery that uses actual mileage. All other activities, like cycling, swimming, rowing and yoga are time-based, of which then is automatically converted to miles. There are two different types of cycling, as you've probably seen - moderate and vigorous - and a vigorous bike ride is converted into more miles than a moderate bike ride. Thank you for each and every minute and mile you are doing in honor of Women in Service - it's appreciated.
Agree! I cycled over 8 miles today and even if I log it as vigorous it only gives me credit for 2.8. It's all for a good cause but would love to see this as a consideration to be updated in the future.

Is it too late to add a person to my team? We have a random person on our team but we were wondering if they could move to another team that might need an extra person so we could add a friend to our team. The random user is julia36. Thanks!
                    2
Hi Nellaaayy! No, it's not. I can move that person to another team. Assume I have done that by the time you read this chat, so you can have your friend join your team. If your friend is already registered, and on another team, I will/can move them to yours. I just need to know their name and team they are currently on. If they are not register, just have them go to: https://racery.com/r/piestewa and find/select your team when they join.

I have miles from 3/21 and 3/22 but did not log them. How can I add them. I have them on Stava and the Nike Running App
Hi Greg: Considering the event formally started today, 3/23, the Racery platform won't allow a user to log activities that occurred before today. However, during the week of the event (3/23-3/30), a user can back-date any activity (back to 3/23). For example, if it's 3/26, and you did your actual activity on 3/23, you can log your activity on 3/26 for 3/23. And, the Racery platform does not connect/sync with activity devices or platforms, like Garmin, Strava, Nike or others. It's a manual entry this Racery platform. I hope this helps.
Greg-once the Wear blue challenge is over you will be allowed to enter your 3/21 & 3/22 miles. During a challenge you can only enter miles for the challenge time frame.

Hi Nancy: That's a great question. I'm researching that for you and will follow-up. Thanks for bringing that to our/Racery's attention.
Hi Nancy. I confirmed that everyone's big number will unfortunately change given the nature of a virtual event. When someone drops out of the event, it re-numbers everyone's bib. But, it's ok, because that does not negatively impact your event performance or anyone's ability to search for you. But thank you again for bringing this to our attention, as it would be ideal for all bib numbers to remain static regardless if participants drop out. Have a great event week!

Great question. Yes, it's ok to row and bike. You will have the opportunity to enter the amount of time that you rowed or biked and the Racery program will automatically convert that to miles for you. In addition to rowing and biking, participants will be able to count swimming and yoga toward the mileage goal as well - and of course, running/walking.

                    1
Hi Ernest. Thanks for bringing this to our attention. And, because of your good question, we should have the capability to search by someone's first or last name by early next week. Right now the search capability is based on someone's nickname. And, for anyone else reading this, you can search for another athlete by going to the "Athletes" tab and scroll to the very top and use the "search" tool. The same search can be done in the "Teams" section - you can search for a team name (but not a person on a team).

I assume you're referring to the link that's in the "About + Join" section just below the words "Use your personal referral link to recruit more racers:" If you're not using that one, please try using that by sending it to whoever you want to invite to be on your team. This is the link that new people should be using, rather than you, as a member already on the team. However, if that process is not working for you, please start a new chat and add "@racery.com" to your chat as this may be a unique technical issue you are encountering that only they can help with. I hope this helps.

During the month of March, wear blue: run to remember will focus on telling the stories of our nation's 399,458 currently-serving female service members and the generations who walked before them.  We will close the month with a powerful inaugural community effort called "The Piestewa Challenge", to honor the 174 women who have given their lives in our continued combat operations around the globe.

This event is named in honor of Army SPC Lori Ann Piestewa.  SPC Piestewa is the first Native American service member to be killed in combat on foreign soil, as well as the first female service member killed in Iraq.  In honor of her and all 174 women, we are asking our wear blue community to form teams of up to 8 people and collectively achieve 174 miles of activity in 7 days (March 23 - March 30).

Your route will start at Piestewa Peak, near Phoenix, AZ, and conclude174 miles later at the Hopi Land, which is next to the hometown of Army SPC Lori Ann Piestewa.

Each mile of activity will honor the women who made the ultimate sacrifice, celebrate the women who were willing to make such sacrifices, and unite our community with a shared effort of purpose, health and connection.  Thank you for being a part of this community and specifically this challenge.
